Holding Back The Tide – Jina Wallwork

What are your goals in life? You could set targets based on the amount of remuneration and admiration you desire to receive, but that will lead you toward disappointment. You will feel as though you’re holding back the tide while the sea pushes you down. There will always be a level of resistance that your goal will refuse to accommodate.

I have only one goal in life. I want to be the best version of me. It’s a goal that accepts my circumstances, resources, and abilities. I have no competition, because there is only one of me. I’m driven toward self-improvement, and I’m the only judge and critic. There is no way to measure success or failure, but it’s a goal that encourages me to strive. I travel with the tide; I don’t fight against it.
