Night and Day by Jina Wallwork

The revolving process of night and day continues. I exist within this constant flow of time, yet some days seem longer than others. I cannot change the length of a day by using my hands to hold back time. However, I know that my emotions connect to the energy of time. Therefore, my experience of how time passes is altered by how I feel. I cannot change time, but each second is constantly in flux. Although time seems constant, there are many differences. The most obvious is night and day, but there are smaller differences in how we experience the smallest moments. The uniformity of a second is entirely undone by your emotions. We all experience time differently, yet we all move at the same pace. When we are excited, time seems to move at a faster rate. When we are bored, time seems to extend. Two people with these emotions can exist within the same moment. Still, their experience will be as opposite as night and day. We are all connected through the present, yet time does not restrict our ability to experience life in a way that is reflective of who we are. Our emotions let us personalize the experience of time. Time also creates a shared structure where we can connect to the lives of others and spend time together.
