Snakes and Ladders – Jina Wallwork
I’m playing the game that exists between us. I learn the rules, and then within a breath they change. The board begins to shape-shift, and I find it difficult to know which game we are playing. It seems so chaotic, and the pieces keep changing size. Can we stop playing games and be serious for a moment? Are we avoiding a real conversation in which we reveal ourselves honestly and truthfully? How can you possibly know who I really am through the game we have constructed? Can we not interact in any other way? The game needs to end. It does not need to change, because I do not wish to replace one game with another. We need to talk, because I no longer wish to play.
